Five Tips For Women

1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.

2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.

3. It is important to find a man you can count on! And doesn't lie to you.

4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.

5. It is important that these four men don't know each other.

Fashion Wednesday: Perfect Pumps For Summer

Pin It Last week I confessed to having a shoe and purse fetish.  I also mentioned it was more with purses.

Part of the reason is that while I loooove shoes, I can't wear many of them anymore because they make my feet very very angry at me and they take revenge by acting out in excruciating pain, making me want to chew my own feet off.  Not good.

I have a few pairs I'll wear occasionally, but I can't stand them for very long.

"Look at my shoes aren't they beautiful?  Great, now take a picture so I can take them off pleeeeease."

Nonetheless I love to look at them and live vicariously through other women.

These Michael Antonio Women's Gilmore Wedge Sandals look AMAZING in grey and they are only $23 with free shipping!!!  The incline doesn't seem to steep and I think I could handle these.

Michael Antonio Women's Langston Platform Pump... I looooove the buckles.  This is one sexy shoe, and it's offered in 5 colors too. I want!!! Size 7.5 please and thank you ;)  Of course, these would only be for pictures... but they would be seriously rocking pictures!!! Only $20... I sure like this Michael Antonio.

These Peep Toe Bow Ankle Strap Platform Pumps are really sweet... would be just lovely for a bride to be or with an airy summer dress... and only $24.99!!!

I'm torturing myself looking at all these shoes, but I can't help it, I love them... they are just sooo pretty!

OK, just one more...

This pair of Madden Girl Women's Jassperr Slingback Pumps is 4.5 inches high.  But if you can stand to walk in them... they are a must have!  For the club, an evening out or a formal affair, you will definitely turn heads with these super sexy shoes!

And that concludes this weeks Fashion Wednesday.  To purchase any (or all!) of the shoes above, click on the images to go directly to Amazon.

*Disclaimer:  I am an affiliate with amazon and earn a percentage of all sales.  Though, mind you, I've yet to make a sale.  LOL  Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?  Also, I should add, I never recommend items I wouldn't purchase myself.

World's Best Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

Strawberry season is here, and there is absolutely no better way to enjoy them then in a strawberry shortcake...

I decided to make one for Mickey's 5th birthday last week, and thought I'd share with you.

Some people use pound cake or angel food to make shortcake, but I like a nice white cake from Duncan Hines.  No other brand will do, and no, they did not pay me to say that.  I just looove their cakes... and M&M brownies. (Homer Drool)

Step 1:  Bake cake as instructed on package.

As you can see, I couldn't find my second round cake pan, so I used a square one and trimmed the cake with a knife by tracing around the top half.  The upside here is that I got to sample the cake and no one knew... hahaha

Tip! To keep your cake level, always place the bottom layer top side down.

I also don't have a cooling rack, so I just use the top of a roasting pan upside down.  Works great. Make sure to cool it completely or your whip cream will melt right off!

Step 2:  "Ice" with whipped cream.

There is nothing better than real whipped cream, so while you can use whipped topping, but it's so much better to make your own, especially since it's so easy.

If you have a metal mixing bowl, stick it in the freezer with your beater whips for about 30 minutes, it will make it easier.

Mix 500 ml of 35% whipping cream, 1/4 cup of sugar and half a capful of vanilla extract and beat on high until it stiffens and starts to form soft peeks.  You can also whip by hand with a whisk... but it will take about 15 minutes and it will feel like your arm is about to fall off... so you know, totally up to you.

Work quickly so that your whip cream doesn't melt, adding a generous amount between the layers and all around the cake... you should use all of it.  (Minus a spoonful or two for the cook.)

Step 3:  Decorate with strawberries and voilà!

I recommend sticking it quickly in the fridge and letting it sit for at least an hour so that it sets.

It was a big hit with the boys, earning a thumbs up from Mickey, the house's toughest critic.

Ummmm my favorite! Reminds me of when my mom used to make them.  Some people use strawberry jam in the middle...

Only 3 steps, but it will look like you slaved for hours!

St-Jean Baptiste Day

Pin It What is this St-Jean Baptiste Day you ask?

Well, it's Quebec's National Holiday, and I am proud to be from this beautiful land.

In honor of our "birthday" sort of speaks, I thought I'd introduce you to my favorite band from La Belle Province as we are called.

This is Beau Dommage, popular in the seventies but timeless. The song is called "La Complainte Du Phoque En Alaska."

Enjoy!

Bonne St-Jean Baptiste à tous les Québécois/Québécoises
